About the Task Force

The "Vector Control Committee Of Silver City" was formed by City Counsel Resolution in the Fall of 2003.
Committee members were appointed by the Councilors with the addition of 3 "Interested Citizen Applicants".
The Committee is to develop, plan, and recommend current and ongoing actions regarding mosquitos/west nile virus:
1 - Development of "Public Education Plan".
2 - Study and plan a vector control program.
3 - Development of a "Public Notification Program" for actions being taken including spraying.

Patrice Mutchnic - spokesperson, science director - appointed by Mayor Terry Fortenberry

Note: appointments made by Councilors Ward and Seibel resigned do to time constraints.
