Open Meetings Act Compliance
Public access to the proceedings and decision-making processes of governmental boards, agencies and commissions is an essential element of a properly
functioning democracy. We believe strongly in open government. Meetings held by public officials to discuss public business, particularly when conducted with the public taxpayers’ money, are the taxpayers’ business. The Open Meetings Act is one of New Mexico’s 'good government' laws, and it deserves the full support of all New Mexicans.

The Silver City Neighborhood Alliance kicks off two great resources this Fall, the quarterly Silver City Report and the Silver City Active Neighborhoods program. The Silver City Report gives everyone an opportunity to build community capacity and to share information about our Town. NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE LITTLE TOAD CREEK BREWERY AND DISTILLERY (“Hereinafter Qualifying Entity”) ESTABLISHING A BREWERY AND DISTILLERY AS AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECT WITHIN AND FOR THE SILVER CITY ARTS AND CULTURAL DISTRICT PURSUANT TO SECTION 5-10-2 B. NMSA 1978 (LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACT) AND SECTION 16-21(a) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF SILVER CITY, GRANT COUNTY, NEW MEXICO
The Council of the Town of Silver City, Grant County, New Mexico hereby gives notice of its intention to adopt an amendment to the Town of Silver City Code of Ordinances.
This notice is given the title as follows:
ORDINANCE NO. 1244
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE LITTLE TOAD CREEK BREWERY AND DISTILLERY ESTABLISHING A BREWERY AND DISTILLERY AS AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECT WITHIN AND FOR THE SILVER CITY ARTS AND CULTURAL DISTRICT PURSUANT TO SECTION 5-10-2 B. NMSA 1978 (LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACT) AND SECTION 16- 21(a) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF SILVER CITY, GRANT COUNTY, NEW MEXICO

Public comments will be accepted until December 8, 2015. Comments may be submitted on the Town’s website, or to email@example.com , or by writing to the Town Council, Town of Silver City, P.O. Box 1188, Silver City, NM 88062. Copies are available at City Hall, 101 W. Broadway.
Consideration of the final adoption of such proposed ordinance will not take place until at least two weeks subsequent to the date of this notice and only at a public meeting called and held in accordance with Section 3-17-3, N.M.S.A. 1978. Consideration of adoption of said ordinance is currently scheduled for and will not take place prior to December 8, 2015.
