    The Council of the Town of Silver City, Grant County, New Mexico hereby gives notice of its intention to adopt a proposed amendment to the Town of Silver City Code of Ordinances. This notice is given the title as follows:

    AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 (ANIMALS), SECTION 6-187 (ANIMALS RUNNING AT LARGE.) AND SECTION 6-190 (FAILURE TO PROVIDE PROPER CARE AND MAINTENANCE.), OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF SILVER CITY

    Sponsor: Councilor Cynthia Ann Bettison.

Comments may be submitted on the Town’s website, or to info@townofsilvercity.org, or by writing to the Town Council, Town of Silver City, P.O. Box 1188, Silver City, NM 88062.     Consideration of the final adoption of such proposed ordinance will not take place until at least two weeks subsequent to the date of this notice and only at a public meeting called and held in accordance with Section 3-17-3, N.M.S.A. 1978. Consideration of adoption of said ordinance is currently scheduled for and will not take place prior to August 25, 2015.

    The Town of Silver City Town is accepting competitive sealed proposals for advertising, publicizing and promoting tourism leading to overnight lodging in the Town of Silver City.

    Funding is authorized through guidelines stated in Town Ordinance No. 961. It is our goal to assist those organizations who assist in promoting the Town of Silver City and its tourist attractions and events. Contracts will be granted to the successful proponents for services provided from July 1, 2015 through June 15, 2016.

    Due to the close of the end of our fiscal year, request for reimbursement will not be considered after June 15, 2016 after 5:00 pm.

    The Mayor of the Town of Silver City is accepting applications to for two (2)  volunteer positions on the Cemetery Board.

    Applicants must reside in Grant County and have an active interest in the management, care and maintenance of Memory Lane Cemetery. The Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m.  The terms are for 2 years.
