Hazardous Materials Response Team
The Haz-Mat Team of the Silver City Fire Department has two general tasks. Protection and Prevention.

Protection:

The Haz-Mat Team consists of six members. Each member is trained up to the operations level (level II). All of the six SCFD members are trained to the Operations Level as is most of all other Fire Department Staff. If a Haz-Mat incident occurs the 1st and 2nd engine companies responding can initiate the primary response and action and call for the Haz-Mat Team to respond.

Silver City Fire Dept Ambulance

The department has obtained classes and has applied for grants for both training and equipment for hazardous materials incidents. The Haz-Mat Team will be taking the Haz-Mat classes to advance to the Technician Level in the near future.
