Citizens Advisory Committee

The Mayor of the Town of Silver City is accepting applications to fill one (1) position on the Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement Citizens Advisory Committee with a term that expires on Dec. 1, 2008. The committee makes recommendations to the Town Council on how to decrease carbon emissions and increase efficiency regarding energy utilization. The Committee consists of ten (10) people acting in a voluntary capacity. Committee members are appointed by the Mayor, with consensus of the Town Council.

Applications may be picked up at City Hall, 101 W. Broadway, Silver City, or printed from the Town’s website. Applications will be accepted until filled by appointment by the Mayor.

Advisory Committee Review Committee

The Mayor of the Town of Silver City is accepting applications to fill two (2) positions on the Noise Ordinance Advisory Committee.

The Committee will make recommendations to the Town Council on all aspects in the development of a comprehensive and enforceable Noise Ordinance. The Committee consists of seven people acting in a voluntary capacity. The Committee members are appointed by the Mayor, with consensus of the Town Council.

Incentive Review Committee

The Mayor of the Town of Silver City is accepting applications for the INCENTIVE REVIEW COMMITTEE. Seven (7) positions are available as follows:

  • Four (4) members shall represent the 4 Town districts;
  • three (3) members shall be appointed at large and may reside in any of the 4 districts or in the Extraterritorial Zone (ETZ).

The Incentive Review Committee reviews Project Participation Agreements submitted to the Town for proposed economic development and makes recommendations to the Town Council. Applications are available on the Town’s website and at City Hall, 101 West Broadway. For more information or to have an application mailed or faxed to you, please call the Town Clerk at 534-6346. These positions will remain open until filled by the Mayor.

Building Inspection Appeals Board Applications

The Mayor of the Town of Silver City is accepting applications for seven (7) members to serve on the Appeals Board for the Building Inspection Program (5 regular members and 2 alternates). The Town Council of the Town of Silver City authorizes the Board of Appeals to hear appeals to the decisions of the Building Inspector in the manner specified in Appendix B of the International Building Code 2003.

Building Inspection Program Advisory Task Force
 
The Mayor of the Town of Silver City is accepting applications to fill five (5) positions on the Building Inspection Program Advisory Task Force.

The Task Force will examine the Town’s current Building Inspection Program and make recommendations for change, if necessary, to the Town Council. The Task Force will consist of five (5) people acting in a voluntary capacity (3 shall be residents of the Town and 2 shall be residents of the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction). The Mayor is seeking applicants who are closely involved with the building, plumbing, and electrical trades, as well as other interested members of the public. The members shall meet at least monthly, and shall make recommendations to the Town Council six months from the date of its formation. The Task Force members will be appointed by the Mayor, with consensus of the Town Council.
